Windows 7 enthusiasts surely remember the good old days when you could relatively easily download Windows 7 from Microsoft TechBench. I published a post 4 years ago with an explanation going around the internet, telling how you could see the real wealth Microsoft was letting people download.
Sadly, Microsoft changed its ways, as anyone trying to surf to TechBench sees-
Happily, Microsoft still suggests a legal way to download a windows 7 iso. You need a valid key, and sadly, it isn't for enterprise licenses, and yet, it is better than no alternative:
HowtoGeek also reminded me that there is a media creation tool for windows 8.1, for those who need it.
And all this dealing with old Microsoft versions made me realize once more, how easier it is to install Linux on an old machine, with Linux Mint, my love, as the preferred alternative...
